SERADO
Olisa, a young, beautiful woman in her mid-twenties, is newly married and blissfully settled with her wealthy husband, Abdul, in a leafy, upscale estate in Kisumu City. Having escaped the hardships of her rural upbringing, Olisa is determined not to forget where she comes from. Against her husband’s quiet reservations, she invites her two uneducated brothers from the village to live with them, hoping city life will offer them dignity and a chance to earn a living. Using his influence and connections, Abdul secures jobs for the brothers despite their lack of formal education. But their poor exposure, lack of discipline, and reckless behaviour quickly turn opportunity into disaster. Soon they are permanently unemployed, idle, entitled, and slowly transforming Olisa and Abdul’s once peaceful home into a living nightmare. The situation worsens when Olisa’s mother unexpectedly arrives from the village and joins them. What began as an act of kindness becomes an unbearable burden, testing Olisa’s marriage, patience, and loyalty to family. Trapped between love and survival, Olisa realizes that good intentions alone cannot save her home. Desperate to restore peace, Olisa and Abdul devise a series of clever schemes to send the three back to the village. First, Olisa stages a dramatic marital quarrel, hoping the family will leave in sympathy, but they refuse. Next, she pretends Abdul plans to visit the village to pay dowry, yet even this fails. With their marriage hanging by a thread, Olisa makes the hardest decision of her life: involving the police. In the end, Olisa must confront the painful truth that sometimes, protecting your happiness means drawing boundaries, even with your own blood.
