Stories should
not only revolve
around immediate National
affairs; politics, infrastructure, Parliament, counties, there is always
more affecting the society.
Those that nobody bothers about
or seem less important yet they still
affect the people of the Nation. Stories that are always lightly highlighted
and are never given closure.
This shall focus on the diverse people and their experiences all
across the country, no experience should be rated as small or unimportant.
The brushed off stories should be revisited and broken
down into details
to make sure it is understood and said in a rightful
and truthful manner without censorship and restrictions
until a solution is found.
Stories like mental health, the floods, drought, poverty, unemployment, forced disappearance and abductions, not leaving out femicide which is
a puzzle yet to be tackled leading to people feeling endangered and not safe in
their own country. The Government of Kenya has committed to ending gender-based
violence by 2026 as part of its global co-leadership of Generation Equality’s
Action Coalition, if effectively enforced, it could significantly reduce such
violence.
